Our most valuable resource is our volunteers.
Members may participate to the extent that your time, interests, and skills permit. One can consider three general “levels” of participation:
• Observer
• Contributor
• Custodian
Check out our Job Opportunities page for the areas we seek immediate help.
All Members are “Observers”. The role of an Observer is to provide support through the mere act of showing up to meetings and staying informed. This is a conscious level of participation that feeds and supports the collective consciousness of the Group while keeping the Observer connected and informed on Group activities.
"Contributors" take a more active role than observers. Typically driven by the Member’s experience and skill set, contributors add value to our efforts by becoming active participants in specific teams of their choice. Contributors may participate by offering informed opinions, providing perspective and asking the tough questions during team meetings. Contributors may take on assignments specific to team tasks.
"Custodians" agree to take on specific roles/responsibilities within Teams or the organization. There is an more commitment and ownership associated with the role of Incumbents. Custodian roles include Team Leaders, scribes, corporate roles (Board, Executives), liaisons; anything that might have a “job description”.
Most new Members start as Observers, attending meetings of the Teams that interest them. At some point, a Member may choose to become more active and to move into Contributor or Custodian roles.
See our Teams Description to learn more about our Teams.
The ZPE Project Group is continuously developing and updating “How To’s” that describe how to perform specific tasks. These include material like FAQs as well as more “job” or “role” specific tasks. They are intended to help answer questions that have come up from Members (like how to access the Calendar, how to update my Membership information) as well as ensure consistency in execution of role specific tasks. Search in the Org folder in Therefore for current How To’s.
